Steven L. Harris 

Professor of Law at IIT, Chicago-Kent College of Law 

Professor Harris specializes in commercial and bankruptcy law and is published widely in different scholarly journals. An active participant in law reform, Professor Harris serves on the United States delegation to the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) and recently served as a reporter to the Drafting Committee to revise Uniform Commercial Code Article 9. Professor Harris earned his bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of Chicago. He entered full-time teaching in 1978, after a judicial clerkship and several years of practicing law in Chicago. He has taught on the faculty of Wayne State University Law School and as a visiting professor at the law schools of the University of Chicago, the University of Michigan and Northwestern University. Professor Harris is an elected member of the American Law Institute and the American College of Commercial Finance.
